This programme is structured according to the European Union Bologna Declaration. It comprises three areas—Bible, Doctrine and Church History, Mission and Ministry—and three levels (Foundational, Intermediate and Superior).
The programme leads to a Bachelor in Theology degree (180 European credits).
AREAS OF STUDY
Our programme of studies covers the following areas:
Bible
Study of the Bible's historical and literary context, and the application of the biblical message to today's world.
Doctrine and Church History
Study of how the formulation of the Church's faith has developed during the two millennia of its existence. In other words, the study of theology is based on an understanding of Church history.
Mission and Ministry
Study of the ways of engaging in mission and ministry. Particular attention is given to the lessons for today from mission practice in the past.
In each one of the areas there are a number of modules which cover different subjects.
LEVELS
Foundational Level - 60 credits
TAn introductory level which lays the foundation for understanding the theological task in the fields of exegesis, doctrinal knowledge and ministerial responsibility.
Intermediate Level - 60 credits
This level extends students' knowledge in each of the trhee areas.
Superior Level - 60 credits
The student concentrates especially one area of his/her choosing, in addition to further extending learnings in the other two.
Each credit represents 25 hours of academic work, including classes, reading and assignments. Thus each level represents a minimum of 1500 hours of academic work.
